Aeotec Outlet is designed to control devices using the Smart Home Hub over a physical and wireless connection. It is powered by SmartThings Zigbee technology.

Aeotec Outlet must be used with a Smart Home Hub in order to work. The Smart Home Hub user guide can be viewed at that link.

Important safety information.

• Read, keep, and follow these instructions. Heed all warnings.
• Clean only with a dry cloth.
• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce hear.
• Only use attachments and accessories specified by the Manufacturer.

Connect the Aeotec Smart Outlet

Steps in SmartThings App.

1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Device.
2. Select Aeotec, touch Outlet, and then Outlet (IM6001-OTP1).
3. Touch Start.
4. Choose a Hub for the device.
5. Choose a Room for the device and touch Next.
6. While the Hub searches, move the Outlet within 15 feet of the Hub and plug it in.

Using Aeotec Smart Outlet

Aeotec Smart Outlet is now a part of your Smart Home Hub network. It will appear as a motion widget that can display motion status or temperature sensor readings. 

This section will go over how to display all information in your SmartThings App.

Steps in SmartThings App

1. Open SmartThings App
2. Scroll down to your Aeotec Smart Outlet
3. Then tap Aeotec Smart Outlet widget.
4. On this screen, it should display:
   • ON/OFF
   • Watt Meter
   • Timer
   • On Time
   • Off Time

Factory reset your Aeotec Smart Outlet

Aeotec Smart Outlet can be factory reset at any time if you come across any issues, or if you need to re-pair Aeotec Smart Outlet to another hub.

Steps in SmartThings App.

1. Press and Hold the connect button for five (5) seconds.
2. Release the button when the LED starts blinking blue.
3. The LED will blink blue two times while attempting to connect.
4. Use the SmartThings App and steps detailed in "Connect an Aeotec Smart Outlet" above.
