Nano Shutter using with Smart Home HUB

The Nano Shutter is a device for controlling a blind or shutter. In this solution we describe how to set up the device with the Aeotec Smart Home Hub and the Smartthings App.


First you need to install the Aeotec Nano Shutter according to the User Guide

Setup in the SmartThings App


  1. Open the Smartthings app on your smartphone.
  2. Switch to Devices.
  3. Press in the upper right corner.
  4. Tap Add Device.
  5. Select Aeotec from the brand catalogue.
  6. Select Window Blinds.
  7. Tap on Aeotec.
  8. Follow the instructions in the app.
    1. Tap Start.
    2. Select your hub and the room.
    3. Tap Next.
    4. Press the button on the Nano Shutter 1x.
    5. Scan the QR code on the device or enter the PIN manually.
    6. Tap New Device to confirm.
    7. Confirm with Done.



Calibration of the Nano Shutter


In order for the unit to function properly, the Nano Shutter must first be calibrated.


  1. Start the calibration by pressing the button on the Nano Shutter 3 times in succession.
    1. The blind starts to move in one direction so that it is fully open.
    2. Press the button on the Nano Shutter or the external switches S1/S2 as soon as the curtain is opened to the maximum.
    3. The blind begins to close.
    4. Once the shutter is fully closed, press the button on the Nano Shutter or the external switches on S1/S2 again.
  2. The recorded time between fully open and fully closed is saved and can be manually changed via the setting in the app if required.
    1. Tap on your blind in the app.
    2. Tap on the 3 dots in the top right corner.
    3. Tap Setting.
    4. Tap Open/Close timing.
